The Blue Cup will feature a massive overhaul of the calendar for the upcoming Blue Cup. The teams have no longer the right to chose a track each but instead the Team Spokesmen have together with the STC organization been co-operating to get a schedule that takes everything into account.
Tracks that have had cutting issues are gone or fixed and same goes for camera issues and to make sure the leagues sponsors get all the air time they deserve no default tracks will be used as it was impossible to modify the sponsor signs around those tracks. Below is a closer look at the new calendar.
March 11th Bahrain International Circuit The circuit is located in the desert of Bahrain and is 5.4 km long and was build in 2003. The track is featured on the F1 circus and is as modern as it gets. The track is relativly fast but also have medium to low speed corners. Turn 1 and turn 4 are the ideal passing places but others do exist aswell.
March 25th Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit The 2.4 km track is located in South Africa and has hosted all kinds of events, including F1, World Superbikes etc. The track is a mid speed track. With some flowing corners combined with alot of height differences makes this track is a challenging one.
April 8th Autodromo do Algarve We will head to Portugal for round three and compared to Kyalami this track features even more height differences which will add to the spectacle. But this is a top modern track that was biuld in 2008 and is 4.7 km long.
April 15th Adria International Raceway Adria is the first circuit of the calendar that we can call a low speed circuit. It is located in the north of Italy. It is a short track that only stretches 2.7 km. It includes 13 corners so the lap times will be fairly comparable to the 4 km tracks.
April 22nd Paul Ricard Circuit Third race in as many weeks. The French circuit brought us a wonderfull season ending race last time around. The very fast 5.6 km circuit will feature dramatic slipstreaming manouvers on the back streatch.
May 6th Long Beach STC's first street circuit will be the famous Long Beach circuit. The track is 3.7 km long and it will be a tough race between the concrete barriers. The track has one really good passing spot and that is turn 1 but the drivers will have to give each other room 'cause there is a wall waiting for you there.
May 13th Road America We will stay in the US for another race but this time it is the fast road circuit of Road America, one of the finest tracks in America. It is 6.4 km long and have long straights with many overtaking opportunities.
May 20th Donington Park Once again the famous track will be on the STC calendar. It is a very flowing track with some of the most iconic corners in the world. The track messures 4 km.
June 3rd Spa-Francorchamps Just as Donington and Paul Ricard the Spa circuit will be on the calendar once again. With corners as Eau Rouge, Pouhon and Blanchimont and a leanght of 7 km this is a drivers track. It is fast and flowing and brings great races every time.
June 17th Hockenheimring The final stop on the Blue Cup calendar will be the German track of Hockenheim. The track was used in STC's first season and is once again back. The track is 4.5 km and is a medium speed track and usually brings very close racing.
