WAR system encourages short and precise rules. Easy to read and to remember, instead of professional looking but mostly unread documents. So here are the STC XII Commandments - our basic rules: I. Be a gentleman: treat each other like you would like to be treated, old ladies are slow but can be competitive so don’t drive them off track, pass them in a kind way. II. Sim rules are league rules, follow them in everything (penalties, pit stops, pit lane speed etc.). Respect pit speed limit in all the sesions of the event. III. A bump is different than a bash, never retaliate. It is dirty, but if you accidentally bump someone off don’t wait for him, the risk of holding up others is big, penalties will be given anyway. IV. Cutting rules are simulator cutting rules. No discussion or need to review If you get a Stop & Go because you risked too much, you know where the limit is. Be a gentleman and respect the limits you know are right. V. Pressing ESC is allowed, but NEVER pres ESC over the racing surface - even after a spin or a crash. Always wait to be completely alone for move the car out of the racing surface, and once with the car stopped in a safe place you can press ESC. VI. Practice and qualifying sessions are part of the race, respect others here too and don’t hold them up in their hot laps. VII. When someone is trying to overtake you in a straight, you are allowed to change lines only once. More changes are illegal blocking. VIII. If a driver is on the inside and has overtaken you in the corner: give him room, follow him, be faster than him, and overtake him in a clean move. Then you are brave… otherwise you made a dirty maneuver and he’s probably (and unfairly) out of the race. IX. Blue flag means: MOVE OVER! Do it safely in the first opportunity you have. Also, respect the lapped cars and give them room waiting for the best place to overtake. X. You can’t win the race in first lap but you can ruin it for you and other drivers, specially in T1, Murphy´s favorite turn. XI. Always use your mirrors, this is not a rally, you aren’t alone. XII. No chat in race or qualifying, battles can be settled after the race. If you want to communicate you can use Team Speak with your team.
.Now, a more detailed explanation of how the league works:
League Format
The Simracing Team Challenge is a limited championship oriented to team work. It will be raced with the SIMBIN GTR Evolution in a 90 minutes endurance race format. It will be covered with the Pro Sim Racing TV LIVE Broadcasting.
Event Schedule The races will be on Thursday during 3, 4 or even 5 months, and the race start will be always at 20:00 CET Time Zone.
Events will have next schedule: 20 minutes Practice 15 minutes Qualifying with Super Pole format 15 minutes Warm Up 90 minutes Race
Allowed Cars Used car will be Doran JE4 Game Settings
The weather for the races will be automatically and dynamically generated depending on real climate data and variables. The month to be simulated is th real life month of the race. This will be an automatic process so neither the STC admins or the teams will be able two know it appart from the also dynamic forecast on website. Also this real clima will guarantee some unrealistic weather changes to not happen, but remember, there are parts of the world where weather changes very fast. It's important the teams know this forecast is only for the race day, as the practice server will be set up in dry conditions, so the "today's forecast" and the server in any day different than race day at race time will not be concordant, server will be always dry. In the "The Weather" tab on STC website, you can find the forecast for the sessions if the race was today, and the expected forecast for next two days, so at least there will be two days to prepare a wet race.
Every invited team will have their own license to compete in the STC, but it will need to be renewed each year. It is mandatory to add the “STC Licensed Team” logo in the team home site/forum as a link to the Simracing Team Challenge site. There are 13 available licenses (always deoending in the staff management and decision). Every team will have to place an entry list for the series before the seasson starts. No team will be able to add more drivers or modify the entry list for the series once there are only 3 races remaining to the end of the seasson. It means, no modifications after Race 7. Only in a emergency case, and after consultation with STC staff some changes will be allowed. Every license gives the right to put two drivers into an event. The teams decide which two drivers to send to every event depending their need, but same driver can only start 5 races in STC, and in the case same driver starts more than five races he will have no right to set a qualyfication time and will end the warm up lap following the safety car to the pit lane doing a drive through while the others start the race. A list of 2 names for each grid will be posted in the Race Alocations section by the teams, as late, every Thursday at 14:00 CET. As said before, each grid consists of 26 drivers at least. Teams will receive the points depending the position they finish the event.A team not posting the drivers to participate in the event will have no rights to set a qualyification time. This league concept is conceived to let all the team members race and take the place of a team mate when he is not available. Remember, it is an endurance team challenge and not a single driver championship so only the teams are really scoring points, whoever is behind the steering wheel.

Awards
Skins It is mandatory to use custom skins in the STC. Every team must send a custom skin pack before a deadline to be decided. We recommend to make full skins, including the inside of the car, flags, etc. The Race Direction will give one numberplate to each team, depending the last seasson standings. There won’t be official templates but the number plates, at least 2, must be placed in a visible place of the car as roof, hood or doors.
Manual Rolling Start Procedure The manual start will be like this: First, after the warm up session ends, once in the race session the cars will take his place in the starting grid including the Safety Car, who will take the last spot in the grid. Once the lights are green, no car will move but the Safety Car. It will move slowly to the front of the group with the lights of, and then with the safety Car leading the race, Race Control will turn the Safety Car lights on and will type in the chat “Starting Formation Lap”, then the cars will start moving following the Safety Car. We have included the "Race Control Car" to follow the group and check on track if there are any problems, or if the formation is correct. The formation laps will be done in a constant pace around 90 km/h. No brake or acceleration tests will be done in the formation lap. It is very important the leading car after the safety car have a constant speed to let the others follow him easily. Once in the Safety Car turn the lights off it will take the pit lane way back. Race Control Car will communicate via radio with the safety car to inform bout the formation condition. If the formation is OK a "Green Flag" will be typed in the sim chat, but if the formation is not correct the "Red Flag, one more lap" message will be typed in the game chat. When race control types Green Flag, no car will overtake before crossing the start/finish line. Green flag can be considered once you have passed through the last corner of the lap. It is mandatory to have the game chat enabled. * If you experience a bug or an incident during the formation lap, type it in game chat or comunicate at Team Speak and let Race Control know what´s going on. Race control will make a decision about the incident and will inform the involved team via Team Speak with instructions about what to do. In the case a car is rejoining his position after an incident, it is very important the group have a slow pace and with some distance from car to car to let him take his place back.
Incident Reports (WAR) Incident reports will be discussed in its own forum, using the exclusive STC WAR system. The team spokesman of the involved teams will make a post explaining what happened and how. Then, Race Direction will make a poll with 10 options to choose and all the teams spokesmen will vote 2 options to decide what result that incident will have. The most voted option will be the applied penalty. In the case of a draw in the voting, the Team Spokesman of the car receiving the hit will make an extra vote to decide. Post your incident report in Team´s Corner section in main site. The report can only be done in the week end after race days. Please always state the exact date on the replay file and post your request in forum with a video. If you can´t make a video you can always find help for that in the WAR forum. It is very important to have a compromise from team spokesman, to be serious, active and vote in all the incidents. Voting will be from Wednesday to Thursday the same week. An explanation about why is required. A team spokesman with 2 missed polls can lose his right to vote. * To prevent incidents we will add next: Any car with lag enough to be a problem for other drivers or a car out of the minimum pace and making strange driving lines will not be allowed to stay in the server.
Team Speak, Chat & Live Broadcast The use of the STC team speak is mandatory. Every team will have his own room in the STC Team Speak server. There will be a Race Direction Member in Team Speak during the race following the events live so you can ask any doubt you have. Chat enabled is mandatory in STC to follow the starting procedure. Before every race, in the warm up session there will be a short briefing in the “Briefing Room”. A driver in the entry list have to use Team Speak, this is mandatory. And a driver in the server but out of team speak will be not allowed to race the event. The STC league will be a LIVE broadcast in Pro Sim Racing TV and there will be a “Green Room” in the Team Speak server where drivers and Team Managers can be interviewed during the broadcasting.
Licenses All the teams taking part in the first season will do it under invitation and their license (the right to race in successive seasons) is for the team lifetime, with a yearly renewal fee. It is very important a team joining the challenge becomes active from the spokesman to the drivers. Inactivity and abcenses can be the motive to loose a license. We (organizers and license holders) will decide how to manage licenses in the future for other teams willing to enter. TO BE UPDATED!!!
So, for all drivers participating - let the engines roar and the fun begin! |
