Hello again,
we are finally starting to smell the racing atmosphere in Curitiba, and all the teams already have their equipments and material spread in the paddock, starting to prepare for what will be a very busy weekend. In the midst of all this action and all this stress, with the brazilian heat, we had the opportunity to take some cold drinks and interview Tom Ilsbroux from Flat Out team and Jari Vinnari from the Roaring Pîpes Maniacs team, under the shadow of Pro Sim Racing´s carp.
Among sip and sip, we were intertwined questions and answers, and this was the result:
Question: How is your team preparing this last round at Curitiba?
Jari: Basically at this point our chosen drivers has been practising on their own. Of course they have swapped their setups and discussed about their lap times and the track.
Tom: I have done only few laps myself yet as i am not planning to race unless realy needed. But members reported that Curitiba is low grip and setup will be key, tyres will be even more of and issue here than in hock, they run hot and wear quickly.
![]() Question: In your opinnion what is the key for this circuit?
Jari: First corner to achieve good lap times. After that its about driving cleanly as fast you can and sametime taking care of your tires.
Tom: I have done only few laps myself yet as i am not planning to race unless realy needed. But members reported that Curitiba is low grip and setup will be key, tyres will be even more of and issue here than in hock, they run hot and wear quickly
Question: After 5 rounds competing STC, with more or less problems, what is your opinion about the series?
Jari: It has been fun. Competition level in general has risen after new teams have joined the ETC.
Tom: It was Great, it is a great place to meet other teams from all over the world. we love teamwork that's why we entered, the broadcast is something we discovered here and it is very great to see your teammates racing. Bit shame we can't do spa as that is such a great track, certainly in the rain.
Next series definitely is looking promising. Question: What have been the best race for your team this season and why?
Jari: Anderstorp. We had first and second place there.
Tom: Hockenheim was a nice one for us as Mike took the win there. We didn't really have a bad race as we where in top places most races, we didn't win many as our goal is consistency and i think it has payed off.
Question: Who have been you harder competitor on track?
Jari: There are so many fast drivers that its difficult to say just one racer. In Anderstorp I had great racing with Flaout and Degen guys.
Tom: RPM and TBR where always around somehow :) , and GMT-DH has shown great performance from the moment they entered.
Question: What way you use to prepare a race in your team?
Jari: Share setups and discuss about the lap times and the track.
Tom: We don't have a fixed way of working, we have a separate section on our forum where discuss everything about this race. We also talk much with each other on teamspeak when we do practice.
Question: Your bet for the Top 3 in the standings?
Jari: It´s too close to call so we have to wait till Sunday. I just hope that all teams have fun and problem free racing weekend.
Tom: Think RPM will be hard to beat but we will give it our best shot.
Question: What do you expect from next seasons?
Jari: Close racing and having a laugh with teammates.
Tom: Looking really promising, bit concerned myself about mixing addons with standard cars as it is impossible to try everything out when making a mod. The superpole can give some surprises as one mistake is enough to end up at the back.
Question: And for ending, your tip for life:
Jari: C'est la vie
Tom: Have fun and relax.
Jari and Tom proved they are really cool guys that enjoy motorsports in an incredible way. We can only say thank you for your time and good luck this weekend.
