I "sat" down with the championship winning GMT- DH Racing's team owner Damian Dainhumain to ask him a few questions about the teams season and its success. Here is what he had to say:

Q: Damian, congratulations to an impressive season for GMT-DHR. What are your thoughts and feelings about it?
Obviously am delighted that the team has won the title as it’s a great achievement to win the title this STC season which has been a true Simracing Team Challenge as the season was very fast and competitive with many more big names coming in. So we are all very happy to get the trophy for the team and can’t wait for the next season to start.

Q: The battle with RPM was a real nail biter where you were separated with less than 10 points for a long, long time. What were the words within in the team? Any doubts on whether or not you could finally win it or not?
Never give in! There were no doubts within the team really, we just stay positive and just took each race as it come and tried our best to apply the pressure on RPM to regain the top spot towards the end. It was very close; we swapped 1st position like 4 times throughout the season.

Q: Vincent Staal was a main character in your team this season. Although it is a team championship were you looking to field him as much as possible in the end to be sure to get as many points as possible?
Well, it was not the plan at the start because we have other driver’s like Vince, 3-4 where going to race in this cup but were unable to compete due to various reasons this season, so we was a few drivers short of what was planned heading into the season for the main team. So Vince came in and did two more races then the two planned and helped us secure the title with his 3 wins and second position, but overall none of us did more than 4 races this season (unlike other teams who had driver’s do 5-6 races) and we actually planned to do less races each but we had a few driver’s who could not race as stated above, but we should have a few guys back for the next cup which will make us even stronger for the next season.

Q: What, in your opinion, was your best round? Dijon?
Dijon was probably our best round yes, it was the key race for us to take back the top spot after being 20 points or so down at one stage, but the GT Pro race at Vallelunga was a very good tactical race for us also, getting back to winning ways with the win Jack (Keithley) took and 3rd from Teo (Bubicic) in the dieing moments of the race.

Q: Finally, anything you can tell us about the upcoming season?
Not really apart from I expect it to be another very fast season and the series to carry on growing as one of the leading sim racing series in the world in terms of speed, team work and exposure. We feel we have no pressure now we have won the title so we are just going to have as much fun as we can to try to reclaim it.
