The 2009 Black Cup is coming closer and closer and it is time to go through the changes and new additions for the upcoming season.

There have been numerous of changes to the format and schedule but first the new additions. STC have a new sponsor in the company of SimBOOT. As reported earlier they make racing shoes for simracers and is a perfect fit for the league.

Two new teams have also joined, well, one new and one junior team. Danielsson Motorsport Virtual have been granted to race a junior team to fill the grid. The newcomers are Project D. It is a French based team of curently eight drivers and they will race the Porsche 997 STC Edition in their first season.

Now over to the format where the biggest changes have been made. To reduce work load and costs the series has scraped the previous format of having six events with one GT Sport race and one GT Pro race each time making it 12 races for the season. Instead the GT Pro class will disapear and the GT Sport cars will be used with the addition of the Ferrari F430, Porsche 997 and the Shelby Mustang, all special tuned for STC so they will have the same speed as the rest.

The schedule has been cut from 12 races on six tracks to eight races, all on different tracks. There will be two weeks between the races instead of the previous one week which will make the preperations for each race better.

The Black Cup starts September 3rd and as always you can follow the race live with chat via the Pit Wall on this site or you can go to PSRtv's or RaceDepartment and watch it there.
