Mike Simian, Gameracer FOR - 1st

Race was very enjoyable for me. My 2 stop strategy relied on me being able to keep up a good average pace and not make mistakes. I knew a 1 stopper was faster over 90 minutes but knowing the track I thought it was too big an ask to not make mistakes at the chicane or t1 with worn tyres at the end of the stints. I hoped everyone had thought the same but after my first pit stop I could see others were going for a 1 stopper and I knew I would have to really push to make it on to the podium. I couldn't really find my best pace but I remained consistent and the soft tyres and setup were working well. I had some great fun overtaking also I seemed to have a very good car down the straights, using a higher than needed 5th gear for slipstreaming really helped. After my second stop I had a 20 second gap to catch Jesper [Taulborg] who was in 1st, I was in 4th I think. I pushed really hard thinking I could probably make 2nd. Suddenly I noticed Jespers little dot on my mini map had stopped at the chicane, there was my chance... just dont make the same mistake! I was closing in nicely but was slightly over doing it and loosing time, still I knew I would get my chance in the last few laps. 3 laps to go and I was in Jespers slip before turn 1, I made the move straight away and manged to not crash and make it past. Nerves were completly gone at that point (must be getting old) I was able to hold it all together and cross the line first. Very happy with the result, personally I feel I could have driven better but I always feel like that.

Daniel Hansson, Motor AG Motorsport - 15th

Didn't get as much practice as I wanted to have, so not feeling close to 100% ahead of the race. And during the practice I notised I had the same problem as my first race in Bahrain: periods of lag that came again and again. This really hampered my pace and stability through out the race. And we had to start from the back, so these two things really worked against me and I couldn't get into any good rythym. In the first stint I made contact with Kristofer [Larsson] during a late braking into turn 1. Was alongside but I should have been able to hug the inside line so our paths wouldn't cross. Hadn't had the time to see what strategy would be the best, so I just run a two-stopper with softs and hoped for the best. Made up some time and places on the track but not as much as I would have liked. Was always struggling to get into a nice pace. The most fun part of the race was when I had nice scrap with Gregory [Degreef] in my last stint. Lasted several laps were I could get a run on him in the slipstream and go past just to see him brake much later than me into the turn. It ended when I was getting into position past the start-finish straight when my game suddenly minimized. I paniced as I was in the slight turn over the line but managed to get back relatively unharmed. The car ran into the wall on the outside and I lost some time and places. Hope no-one was affected by it. But the main thing was to finish the race. Brought it home in 15th. Not proud but still much better than last times DNF.

Theo de Bruin, Blue Flag Racing - 21st

Well, I had a good race. Qualified in 20th (I think) and decided to try for one stop. Managed to stay out of trouble at the start and won a few positions because of other peoples mistakes but didn't manage to hold on and dropped back again. Then after my first stop I got a Stop & Go for speeding in the pitlane... and on top of that I miscalculated my fuel and had to made another stop 8 minutes before the end. Finished in p.21 as last of the finishers. Could have finished one position higher I think. Still I had great fun driving on this great track!

Danny Asburry, Torrent Motorsports - 6th

When the race started I had missed timed my shifting badly and held up Yuri [Braham] at the start, who was running right behind me. Thought I blew any chance of overtaking anyone, but then some drivers butchered the first corner and I got around 3 drivers. I was very happy at this point because starting races really isn't my strong suit. Unfortunately, I got passed a few laps later by a Black Visor Motorsports car after I got checked up really badly by a Project D car going through the chicane. Made some mistakes in the middle of the race, but I made some good calls with pit stop strategy, and was able to get back into it. With about 30 minutes left, I did my final stop and was able to go through the field until I was up to 5th. That's when Goran [Johansson] got on my tail with fresher tires and I would imagine less fuel. He was taking time off me left and right. With about 20 or 15 minutes left in the event, I had to do some of the best in-traffic-driving I've ever done. I was weaving through lapped traffic like a mad man, just trying to keep some type of gap to Goran. It worked out well, even if I almost went off a few times. But on the final lap the pressure and my tires were too much to handle, and Goran was able to do a really nice maneuver on me at the chicane. I had to go into the grass because I terribly screwed up the exit of the chicane, and I didn't want to clip the anti-cut strip and risk losing control and taking us both out. So the game gave me a black flag for cutting even though I lost my place. Not sure how that impacted my result as I just followed Goran and finished 6th.

Sebastian Levret, Project D - 4th

I made a good start without mistakes and manage to do the first half of the race as close as possible to the leaders. And I was happy to stay with them. My strategy was to make 1 pit stop and seeing the other in a 2 pitstop strategy was a good thing for me because with old tires, I was not to slow. My position moved from the 2ns to 8th depending of the pitstops and at the end of the race Mike [Simian] and Peter [Duivelaar] was faster than me, and I couldn't defend my 2ns place. 4th for me is a good result, and a very good result for Project D.
