Flying Dutchman Racing had a terrific race at a rain hit round 2 at Paul Ricard. The race started in damp conditions but was soon hit by a heavy shower. A shower that would be of great importance to the outcome of the race. Göran Johansson, the pole sitter, for Gubbklubben came in for wet tyres while both the FDR cars, driven by Hugo Hekkenberg and Jakob de Boer, changed to dry tyres again. When the track later dryed the two Duthmen had a great advantage and Hekkenberg could win quite comfortably in the end with de Boer in 2nd. Johansson had to settle for 3rd. One team that really needed pointe were The Black Rebels after not showing up for the first race. Gregory Degreef made sure that happened and finished in a fine 4th. Though the very last turn could have made it a day to forget as he spun. But Daniel Beck in the second Gubbklubben Corvette was a little too far behind to capitalise on that and finished 5th. Yuri Braham (FDD) had an eventfull beginning to the race after starting far down the order but managed to climb his way to 6th. Tiago Orfao (ABR) just beat FlatOut's David Clark for 7th. Nathan Aljoe (also FlatOut) and Ethan Bass (FDD) rounded up top 10. |
